Meet Melissa
Melissa started as a funeral arranger after organising a beautiful farewell for her mother. Seeing how much her mother would have appreciated the celebration of life brought her immense joy. Melissa is now fulfilled by providing comfort and happiness to other families during their time of grief.
What do you like about being a funeral arranger?
What I enjoy the most is supporting families during their time of grief. I'm also grateful for my colleagues at Simplicity, they are truly amazing and consistently offer support to one another.
What's the most remarkable funeral you've ever arranged?
Every celebration of life is unique and special in its own way. One memory that stands out to me is when I helped organise a service for a South American family. At their request, we arranged for three Brazilian dancers, adorned with feathers and dressed in exquisite attire, to perform in the chapel. It was a beautiful tribute to honour their loved one's passion for music and dance. The family expressed how much their loved one would have appreciated the attention.
What do you like about your local area?
I appreciate the cultural and ethnic diversity of Bankstown, which offers a delightful array of culinary options. The food scene here is definitely something I love about my local area.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I have a busy schedule with my three children, I don't have much time for hobbies currently. However, I do enjoy taking them to their weekend activities. Our family loves dining out at different restaurants, and a major plus is not having to clean up afterward!
What's one thing people don't know about you?
Something that people don't know about me is that I love to travel! In fact, I have been over 20 countries. I am looking forward to doing more travelling and adventuring in the future.
