Michelle joined the funeral industry in 2018, after 30 years as a hairdresser. Her decision was driven by a desire to support families during their most challenging times, having experienced the difficulties of organising two family funerals herself.
What do you do in your spare time?
I always collect different seashells and rocks every time I visit the beach or when I travel to another country; I’m always bringing one or two home. On weekends, I enjoy spending time relaxing and exploring the Mid North Coast.
What’s the most remarkable funeral you’ve arranged?
I organised a service for a lady's husband who wanted a simple, no-fuss service. However, the loved ones left behind wanted to still say goodbye in their own way, so we arranged a small immediate family service. During the service, a grandson surprised his grandmother by taking her hand to dance to his grandfather's favourite song. Other family members also joined them, and it was a beautiful and perfect way to say goodbye.
